Week 10: Hot or Not Players

June 14, 2006 — Just over a third of the way through the season and we're starting to see some disturbing trends develop. Many the kind that, if you don't use the MOTY Scope™ to help find a strong replacement player or two, could sink your season.

On the other hand, while some perennial fantasy studs are looking more like fantasy duds, other guys are starting to bust out. Take a certain AL backstop, whose recent take off is 1) a relief, and 2) helping establish his reputation as a disappointing first-half player … who goes on to explode in the second half.

As always, we'll focus on guys who may be available in your league or prime trade targets/bait. To check out even more fantasy baseball players heating up or cooling off — 126 total players (59 Hot, 67 Not) — log in to your MOTY account for the complete Week 10 Hot and Not list.

American League — Hot

Like every week, players appear in this list for 2 reasons — they’re the guys who’ve both risen to the top in the Last Week (LW) MOTY rankings AND, more than likely, are available in your league.

American League — Not

Key to the “Not” list is that these guys are almost certainly on a roster in your league, possibly yours. And based on sluggish or declining Last Week (LW) MOTY#s, may be down trending … toward the bench for a while, (maybe) as trade bait or (gulp) dropped to the wire.

Like the guys highlighted in the AL list, these players are pulled from the masses because of the up tick in their Last Week MOTY#s.
